Family Vacation May 2006

(Please give the thumbnails a minute to load... Thank you!)

I guess most of you know about my little vacation in May 2006... we went to Malaysia, Thailand and then back to Canada to visit Toronto for Anime North 2006. So here are some of the pictures... mostly just my favorite pics... there's wwwaaaayyyy to many, so if you want to see the whole collection, give me a call, and maybe I'll arrange a viewing! hahaha! I'm originally from Kuala Lumpur (a.k.a. KL), Malaysia... so that's where we spent most of our time... therefore, most of the pics are taken from there...

Anyway... let's start! Michelle & I had to take a flight from Calgary to Vancouver through Westjet, then took Singapore Airlines from Vancouver... stopover at Seoul, Korea... then Seoul to Singapore... stay overnight, then fly to KL.

So here are some pictures of us in Singapore. We took a hotel bus from the Singapore airport to our Hotel: Furama City Centre (3 stars) and arrived @ 2:00am local time there. ((Tee hee! The room service menu was VERY interesting!) The next day, we met up with our Aunt and cousin for lunch before heading off to the airport. There, we met these black guys that hit on us... If you haven't read michelle's ramble on this situation, it's available here Singapore's Changi Airport is awesome! They have an orchid garden, free internet computer stations, cable tv, relaxing couches, duty-free shopping, etc. Tons of stuff to entertain you while you are waiting for you flight!

Petronas Twin Towers, KL... They built a mall right under it... KLCC!! I love the touch-screen information board

What is vacation without food?! It's the best part!! Yummy... Malaysian food is to die for! *drool* Anyway... yes, I went to Malaysia to eat Pizza Hut!! Personally, I think it's the best pizza ever! Also they have the best garlic bread too! *2nd pic* It tastes different from Calgary's Pizza Huts... Yes, I do realize I sound a little crazy... But while I'm crazy, I'll say this too. I LOVE my Paddle Pop ice cream!! *1st pic*

Okay... so the last pic in the this section is a picture of a marketplace... that relates to food right?! (It's the market near our house in KL)

Visiting family!! My aunts, uncles and cousins! (Believe it or not, not everyone on my dad's side of the family is in the picture)

Hanging out with the cousins! Sunway Extreme Park - KL ... ATVs are so fun!! Scary at first, but fun once you get the hang of it.. =(^.^)= ...

Clubbing at Savanh... After clubbing we went to get something to eat...

We also went to Zouk Nightclub the next night...

So here's the story... Michelle and I are walking through a mall (Sungei Wang) and we look down to the main floor and noticed a crowd of people... then we noticed it's a boyband and thought, "Hey, they look cute, let's go check it out." So we got a free poster and got it autographed... We got to chat with them for quite awhile... 'cause we're from CANADA! Yay!

Anyway... they are a boyband from Australia... and I LOVE their Aussie accent... Sigh... *daydreams off to lalaland* We missed their performance that night May 4th, so we decided to catch their performance at another mall the next day: Berjaya Times Square May 5th. So here are some pictures of them.

Buddhist Temple in KL

Thailand... Convert Canadian dollars to Malaysian Ringit to Thai Baht... I'M RICH! Buahahaha! Michelle and I went on a 3-days, 2-nights visit to Bangkok!

The Lady-Boy show!! Ahem... it's exactly what it is... Lady-Boys -meaning these "girls" used to be men. Apparently you can get approved for a sex-change operation in 2 weeks, compared to the 3 years you have to wait in North America! So if you have an urge to become male or female, I suggest you get a ticket to Thailand! hahaha! But... aren't they pretty?! I think so...

Aquaria, KLCC -Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

When we flew back from Malaysia, we had to stay overnight in Vancouver... and this was the first time we had breakfast at IHOP! Yay Sylvia for bringing us there!
